The hospital
section of the college is attended by about 150 patients
per day. It is recognized as one of the excellent center
for speciality dental treatment in this region of Vidarbha.
The charges of the treatment levied on patient are almost
at par with Govt. Dental Hospitals in the state and free
for BPL and poor patients. Govt. General Hospital (Irvin)
Amravati is used for the training of Third BDS students
in the subject of General Medicine and General Surgery.
The Govt. of Maharashtra accorded permission wide letter
No. HSP / 1091 / CR – 148 / A-3 Dated Sept. 1993.
(Annexure - XII ) and the charges are regularly paid to
Govt. of Maharashtra. (Annexure - XIII) as per demand note
from Govt. |

Equipments

The College
& Hospital is provided with good quality equipments
required for effective training to under graduate students.
All departments are having related equipments essential
for providing quality treatment to the patients. The college
is having 126 dental chairs and units as per the requirement
of Dental Council.The Operation theatre is well equipped
with latest equipments essential for General Anaesthesia
and to perform the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeries. |

The Radiology section is having
Orthopantomogram with Cephalometry and three machines
are available for taking intra oral periapical X-rays
with the facility of dark room. |

The department of Periodontia is
having Ultrasonic scalers with modern facilities for
periodontal surgeries. |

The Orthodotnic department is having
required kits for treating patient with fixed appliance. |

The Conservative department is
having facilities of rubber dam technique and casting
equipments and cosmetic fillings. |

Prosthodontic department is having
semi-adjustable articulators with complete -face bow
assembly, Dental Cast Surveyors and facility for metal
casting and all types of acrylic work. |

The Oral Pathology department is
equipped with Microtome, Histokinete, Binacular Microscope and Trinacular
projection Microscope with CCTV attachment with camera for photographic
record of the slides. |

Students microscopes are provided
to Gen. Human Histology, Physiology, Oral & Dental Pathology
and General Pathology deptts. as per their requirements. Incubators
are available in Microbiology deptt. |

The Preclinical Laboratory is equipped
with working table having provision of gas connection, micro - motor
and spot light and phantom heads. In near future porcelain unit
and cobalt-chrome casting laboratory will be started for post-graduate
studies. |

The Central Compressor unit is
available. The workshop facility is available for repair and maintenance
of the equipments. The gas connections for clinical, Preclinical
and Laboratories are made available |
| Mobile
Dental Clinic : |
To cater
the need of providing Dental treatment specially to the Rural and
Tribal population of Melghat region and to reach slum areas (Zopad
Patti) of urban, a well equipped Mobile Dental (Clinic) Van is made
available. The Van is having Dental Chair and unit installed with
Dental X-ray machine and other required equipments and instruments.
Sitting arrangement for transport of (15) Dental Doctors and Interns
is provided. The sound system with loudspeaker and mice to address
the gathering at Dental Camp. Generator is installed in van. This
van is providing services to needy and poor patients and also being
used for field programme for the Third B.D.S. students in the subject
of Community Dentistry. The services of this van along with a team
is also provided to the Non – Government Organisations. (NGO).
Like Indian Dental Association, Rotatory Club International, Lion’s
Club, Jaycee Club and many other local organizations as per their
request. Services are also provided to the patients at Leprocy center,
Orfans and disabled schools and Central prison; Primary schools
and Middle schools as per their call regularly, as a social commitment.
Sainik School at Chikkaldara, Melghat, Tapovan- leprocy centre are
adopted for Dental treatment. A team of doctors and interns is regularly
visiting world famous “Search-Shodhgram” started by
Dr. Abhay Bang a great Social – Medical worker. And also visiting
“Anandvan- Warora” wel-recognised reform center started
by Padmvibhushan Baba Amte. |

The Community
Dentistry Deptt. has adopted few locations and identified non-government
organizations in and around the city of Amravati. The objective
of this is to create awareness in the population of slum areas,
rural and tribal areas regarding the Oral & Dental Health problems
and to collect the data required for the training and teaching in
the subject. |
Dental patient
are regularly treated at four Urban satelite centre viz : Bhaji
Bajar, Vilas Nagar, Tapovan & Badnera. In addition to these
Rural centre at Nerpinglai is also regularly attended for the treatment
of the patients in rural area. |

Tapovan Centre : Situated
in premises of Vidarbha Maharogi Mandal's Tapovan, Amravati.A Dental
Clinic is being set, which is managed by the college along with
Rotary club of Amravati and Indian Dental Association. |

Bhaji Bazar Centre :
Slum Area - Bhaji Bazar - of Amravati . A Dental clinic is being
runned regularly by Rotary club and Dental College, Amravati. |

Badnera Centre : 10
kms away from the Institution. It is run with the collaboration
of the Health Department of Municipal Corporation, Amravati. |

Vilas Nagar Centre :
Slum Area - Vilas Nagar - of Amravati . A Dental clinic is being
runned regularly by Rotary club and Dental College, Amravati. |

Nerpinglai Centre :
Village of 10,000 population . 30 kms away from the city. Team of
the Dental Surgeon, Interns and senior teaching staff is regularly
visiting. |
